Kobe revolutionized the world of basketball shoes forever when it introduced the Kobe 4, an ultra-lightweight low-collar masterpiece dedicated to speed and offering incredible sensations on the court. The 8 takes the best of the low-collar Kobe 4, 5, 6 and 7 and assembles it into what some consider the crown jewel.
Soft upper
When the Kobe 8 was released in December 2012, we used woven mesh in the minimalist basketball shoe, a first in the company's history. The woven mesh upper is soft, supple and pliable. It envelops the foot and hugs its shape.
Controlled turns
The herringbone pattern on the forefoot and heel provides unerring grip, which can be heard with every sharp step and rapid change of direction. It's placed in areas that normally come into contact with the sol, for a sure grip. The diamond-shaped outsole evokes the head of a mamba snake.
Shock absorption
Thick foam along the entire length of the midsole absorbs shock to enjoy every minute of the game.
Hard plastic in the heel for a perfect fit and no slippage inside the shoe.
