The legal guarantee of conformity applies to all products sold by basket4ballers and is free of charge. According to the laws in force in France, a product is considered to be non-compliantwhen it:

  • does not allow for normal expected use
    (e.g., a performance basketball shoe that cannot be used for playing)
  • does not match the seller's description
    (e.g., wrong color or wrong model received)
  • does not have the advertised features
    (e.g., cushioning technology different from that indicated)
  • has a manufacturing or assembly defect that was present from the outset

Basketball shoes are subject to significant stress during games and training: jumping, rubbing against the floor or opponents, impacts, and changes of direction are all factors that weaken the shoes.

Signs of wear, snags, and tears are therefore not generally attributable to a manufacturing defect and are not covered by the legal warranty of conformity. 

Therefore, the following cases are not generally covered by the legal warranty of conformity, but here are some tips to help you extend their lifespan:

1. Outsole wear

Cause: Running, sideways movements, and sudden stops cause gradual wear on the rubber.

Prevention :

  • Choosing a pair that is suitable for the playing surface, especially outdoors,
  • Use indoor shoes only on the court.
  • Alternate between several pairs to extend their lifespan. 

2. Sagging of the midsole

Cause:repeated impacts from jumping and running compress and degrade cushioning foams (EVA, Zoom Air, Boost, etc.).

Prevention :

  • Replace your shoes frequently if you use them regularly.
  • Allow shoes to air out thoroughly after each training session or game.

3. Deterioration of the upper

Cause: Contact with opponents and twisting weakens the upper materials and can cause abrasion, tears, pulled threads, or rapid wear at the collar.

Prevention :

  • Choose a shoe that suits your playing style: reinforced for powerful players, flexible for fast players.

4. Removal of the sole

Cause: Moisture, perspiration, and repeated twisting weaken the glue and seams.

Prevention :

  • Air and dry shoes properly after each game or training session.

5. Wear and tear on laces and eyelets

Cause: Repeated tightening/loosening and friction damage laces and fastenings.

Prevention :

  • Replace laces that are too worn out.
  • Choose the right shoe size to avoid excessive tightness.
  • Untie your shoes properly before putting them on or taking them off.

No basketball shoe lasts forever, but with the right reflexes, you can extend their lifespan and optimize your performance on the court. Maintain your shoes, alternate pairs and choose models suited to your sport.
