The Kobe 8 Protro tribute to the unbreakable bond between Kobe Bryant and Paul Gasol and to the iconic shoe that cemented their friendship in 2012. Its Twine-colored leather upper is enhanced by pony-skin-effect details in Baroque Brown tones. An Ocean Cube-colored stripe connects the upper to the transparent outsole and its color gradient. And for an extra nod to the past, we’ve added some very special accents, featuring Kobe’s Sheath: they’re shaped like a horseshoe, with “Siempre Hermanos” written on them.

This exceptionally lightweight and low-profile model—the very one that helped Kobe shine during the 2011–2012 season—features an all-white colorway and a Nike React foam insole. True to the Protro spirit, the refined embroidery and Kobe’s “Sheath” logo on the midsole embody the Mamba spirit with every step.

• The herringbone pattern on the front and back of the sole provides optimal traction for quick changes of direction and sudden movements. Positioned where your foot naturally lands, it ensures a secure grip.
• Diamond-shaped patterns run along the edge of the outsole to the heel. A small pivot circle is integrated into the ball of the foot. 
• Nike React technology is a lightweight, durable foam that provides smooth, responsive cushioning. The molded heel counter ensures optimal support. 
• The tongue is padded in the center for a comfortable fit.
